Vikas Kunnure began his career in medicine in 1986 when he enrolled at the University of Mumbai. Four years later, he graduated from the university with his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBSS) in 1992. While enrolled in university, Vikas worked as a medical trainee and Junior House Officer with J.J. Hospital and Grant Medical College in Mumbai. He completed his post-graduate training in Diabetology and completed his clinical experience as a Medical Officer at Nair Municipal Hospital in Mumbai. In 1996, Vikas moved to the U.K. and joined the NHS, where he’s remained a practising surgeon to this day. 

In his career since then, Vikas Kunnure has served as Medical SHO (Senior House Officer) at several institutions across the U.K., including Worcester Hospital in Worchester, Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride, and Ashford Hospital in Middlesex. He then transitioned into a role as Medical Registrar at St. Georges University Hospital NHS Trust in London, where he remained for a year before beginning General Practitioner Training at Mark Street Surgery. Once completing his training, he served as Locum General Practitioner for more than a decade. 

After building a career in family medicine, Vikas Kunnure wanted to move into a speciality where he was able to make more of a difference in his patients’ lives. For the past seven years, since 2014, Vikas has been working as a hair transplant surgeon in the U.K., where he’s able to make real change in peoples’ lives.
